Dr. Pressler is a board certified general surgeon who joined Hawaii Pacific Health administration in 2002. Hawaii Pacific Health (HPH) is a not for profit health care provider which includes Kapiolani Medical Center for Women & Children, Kapiolani Medical Center at Pali Momi, Straub Clinic & Hospital, Wilcox Hospital on Kauai and Kauai Medical Clinic. Dr. Pressler is executive vice president responsible for service line development, marketing, communications, philanthropy, government relations and also serves as Chair of HPH Partners, a subsidiary of Hawaii Pacific Health for joint ventures. Prior to joining HPH, Dr. Pressler’s career included Deputy Director of Hawaii State Dept of Health, Pres & CEO of Queens/HMSA Premier Plan, Assoc Prof of surgery at John A. Burns School of medicine, private practice in general surgery and five years in management at Bank of Hawaii. Dr. Pressler holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Cornell University and MBA, MS in physiology and MD degrees from the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
 
Dr. Pressler is Immediate Past President of the Hawaii Pacific Division of the American Cancer Society , a commissioner on the Statewide Health Coordinating Council and has served as Chair or member of numerous community boards, commissions and task forces such as the Tobacco Trust Fund, Hawaii Uninsured Project, Chamber of Commerce Board & Health Committee and Hawaii Business Roundtable Health Committee. Dr. Pressler served on a Joint Commission of Congress last year and was honored as the grassroots champion for Hawaii for 2008 by the American Hospital Association.
